Rotating Partners vs. Fixed Teams

In a traditional euchre game, you and your partner play together the entire time. In a rotating partner tournament, you're paired with a different person each round. This means:

• Your score reflects your individual performance across all partners
• A great player will consistently score well, regardless of who they're paired with
• The format rewards adaptability — reading a new partner's style is part of the skill

How Scoring Works

After each round, one player at each table enters the final score for both teams. Here's how it flows:

1. Your team plays the set number of hands for the round (e.g., 5 hands)
2. Keep a running tally of points during play (euchre scoring rules apply)
3. When the round is over, enter your team's total score and the opponents' total score on your phone
4. Both you and your partner receive your team's score as individual points for that round

Josh's final tournament score is 71 points. This is compared against every other player's total to determine standings.

How Standings Are Calculated

Standings are straightforward: highest cumulative score wins. The app updates standings in real time after each score is submitted, so everyone can see where they stand throughout the tournament.

The standings page shows:

• Rank — your position (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.)
• Player name
• Total points — sum of all round scores
• Rounds played — to see if everyone has completed the same number

Tiebreakers

If two or more players end the tournament with the same total score, ties are broken by:

1. Head-to-head record — if tied players faced each other, the one who scored higher in that round wins
2. Highest single-round score — the player with the best individual round performance
3. Most rounds won — the player who outscored their opponents in more rounds

In practice, ties are rare in rotating partner tournaments because the cumulative scoring across many rounds tends to separate players naturally.

Achievements

EuchreTourney awards achievements based on your performance across tournaments. They appear on your profile and add a fun layer of competition beyond the leaderboard.

Achievements are awarded automatically when you meet the criteria. Check your profile to see which ones you've unlocked and which are still up for grabs.
